Notable Achievements in Sports Law and Entertainment Law

  • Successfully representing former child movie star Spanky McFarlane of the "Our Gang" (Little Rascals) film series in protecting his right to use his name and identity for commercial purposes. McFarland v. E & K Corp., 766 F. Supp. 727 (D. Minn. 1990) and McFarland v. Miller, 14 F.3d. 912 (3rd Cir. 1994).
  • Obtaining settlements for Twin Cities television, radio, and music industry performers for breach of contract and wrongful termination of their employment.
  • Achieving large settlements for members of the Minnesota Vikings football organization upon termination of their employment.
  • Obtaining a large settlement for a coach of a girl's softball team who was disfigured and injured by a thrown bat during a softball game.
  • Representing children and their parents in connection with exclusion from participation in recreational and extra-curricular figure skating, soccer, football, and softball teams.
