• Marshall H. Tanick has again been selected as in the Top 100 of all Super Lawyers in Minnesota.

• Jeffrey C. O’Brien has been selected to participate in “Leadership Elk River”, a local leadership development program organized by the Elk River Area Chamber of Commerce. Mr. O’Brien is a resident of nearby Albertville, Minnesota.
• In June 2009, Steven V. Rose and Gregory M. Miller obtain a directed verdict and successfully defend a commercial landlord from a claim for $500,000.
• Phillip J. Trobaugh will be giving two presentations at a Special Education CLE seminar on November 6, 2009 through the National Business Institute.
• Charles A. Horowitz and Brian N. Niemczyk recently prevailed at the summary disposition stage in connection with a veteran's preference hearing related to a fire department's attempt to terminate a firefighter because of his claimed medical problems. Mansfield Tanick & Cohen was able to convince the commission hearing the case to summarily reverse the department's termination decision prior to the hearing even being held, based upon the fact that the department had tried, and failed, to terminate the same firefighter for the same alleged medical condition in the past. The Firm's victory in this matter prior to the evidentiary hearing saved the client thousands of dollars in legal and expert fees and won him full reinstatement to his job.
