- On January 19, 2010, approximately 75 people attended the first INCubation Briefing program of 2010. Attorneys Gregory B. Perleberg of Mansfield Tanick & Cohen, and Eduardo Drake of Schwegman, Lundberg & Woessner, discussed the importance for businesses to secure their intellectual property. - Jeffrey C. O’Brien has been elected to the Board of Directors of U.S.-China Business Connections (UCBC) for 2010. UCBC is an educational and networking forum for companies, individuals and institutions wishing to develop or promote business ties between the U.S. and China. UCBC consists of individual entrepreneurs, small and mid-sized businesses, as well as Fortune 500 companies, currently doing business or seeking business opportunities in China. - Denise Y. Tataryn will be part of a panel on Employee Benefits and Compensation for a one-credit course, “Legal Profession: Retooling for the New Economy” for law students at William Mitchell College of Law, to be held on February 18, 2010.
- KrisAnn Norby-Jahner, a law clerk at the Firm, was part of Hamline University Law School’s National Moot Court Team which placed first in their Region, beating out all teams from the University of Minnesota, William Mitchell, St. Thomas, Drake, the University of Iowa, and the University of South Dakota. The team will be one of 22 teams across the country competing at Nationals Feb. 1-5 in New York City and also won best brief runner-up in our Region. Ms. Norby-Jahner was the lead brief writer, and Noelle Volin and Samantha Harker (who will be clerking at the Firm this upcoming summer) were the lead oralists.
