Mansfield Tanick & Cohen Associate Named to 2008 Rising Stars List

Mansfield Tanick & Cohen is pleased to announce senior associate Jeffrey C. O'Brien has been named to Minnesota Law & Politics' 2008 Rising Stars list, a distinction awarded to only 2.5 percent of Minnesota attorneys.

O'Brien, who practices in the areas of business transactions, real estate law and estate planning/probate, joined Mansfield Tanick & Cohen in December 2004, having spent the prior four years at a small suburban firm.

O'Brien has dealt with a diverse array of businesses and business owners in his practice, including real estate developers and investors, restaurant operators, manufacturing companies, franchised businesses, financial advisors and insurance agents and members of the entertainment industry. He has significant experience with the formation of new businesses, and he is heavily involved in the Mansfield Tanick & Cohen Business INCubation Center®, a program designed to provide new and developing businesses with essential legal services in their formative years.

O'Brien attended the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, and graduated with honors in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in manufacturing engineering. The first class of students to graduate with such a degree. He received his Jurist Doctor with honors from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul in 2000, and he is admitted to practice in the States of Minnesota and Wisconsin as well as the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota.

In addition to his client work, Mr. O'Brien is a frequent author and lecturer on a wide variety of legal topics, and he is a member of the Minnesota Multi-Housing Association, CIC Midwest, the Minnesota Association for Guardianship and Conservatorship and his neighborhood homeowners' association. He also currently serves as the firm's marketing director and is the editor of eWatch & eNews.
