Attorneys' primary asset is their time and we are proud to have several of our attorneys represent the firm and donate their time to various non-profit organizations through service on boards of directors, committees and other volunteer activities. Among the organizations which our attorneys are involved in are the following: Seymour J. Mansfield is an active member of the governing boards of the following:
Marshall H. Tanick is actively involved in a number of organizations, including Minnesota Jewish Theatre Company, the American Dog Owner's Association, Inc., Animal Ark, Minnesota Daily Alumni Association, Golden Valley Envision - Connection Project, Golden Valley Bridge Builders, Golden Valley - New Hope Youth Basketball League and the Jewish Synagogue and Organization League (JOSL). Earl H. Cohen is a trustee of the Bet shalom endowment, counsel to the board of Urban Battles, Inc. and counsel to Metro Deaf School, Inc. Teresa J. Ayling and Phillip J. Trobaugh volunteer in the employment law clinic at Chrysalis, an organization serving the needs of women, girls and families in the Twin Cities. Charles A. Horowitz is a member of the Board of Directors for the Minnesota Youth Symphonies, serving on its marketing and architecture committees. MYS is Minnesota's premier youth orchestra program, consisting of four separate, merit-based orchestras for students of various ages. Its nationally-recognized program is both challenging and rewarding, offering unparalleled educational experiences for musically gifted children, whether or not they plan on going on to attend a conservatory or college music program. Come to a concert and be prepared to be amazed. Brian N. Niemczyk serves as the firm's representative on the Professional Education Committee for the Minnesota Multi-Housing Association (MHA). Founded in 1967, MHA promotes the highest standards in the development, management and maintenance of rental and owner-occupied multi housing. Members include the state's largest apartment management companies, developers, common interest communities, and providers of related products and services. The Professional Education Committee is responsible for planning continuing education programs for its members. Another MT&C attorney, Jeffrey C. O'Brien, previously served on the committee. Jeffrey C. O'Brien is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Association of Microbusinesses (AAM). AAM fosters the growth of "microbusinesses" - businesses with 10 or fewer employees - through education, commerce and mentoring. Mr. O'Brien is also the School Board Chair of the Redeeming Grace Lutheran Church and School located in Rogers, Minn. He has also serves on the Planning Committee and Publications Subcommittee for CIC Midwest, a division of the Minnesota Multi-Housing Association which is devoted to issues of importance to condominium and townhome associations. Denise Y. Tataryn has served as a board member for The Arthritis Foundation, North Central Chapter, since April 2007. She serves on the Health Care Committee and has been an active volunteer for several fundraising events. As arthritis is the number one cause of disability in the United States, the mission of Arthritis Foundation is to improve lives through leadership in the prevention, control and cure of arthritis and related diseases. Ms. Tataryn also volunteers on a monthly basis for the Multiple Sclerosis Society, providing legal advice on employment and disability-related matters. Phillip J. Trobaugh is the Chair of the Programs Subcommittee to the Minnesota State Bar Association's Civic Education Committee. He is charged with organizing and soliciting attorneys to volunteer their time to discuss civics issues in middle and high school classrooms around the State. Such topics include: the Constitution, judicial elections and the landmark U.S. Supreme Court case, Brown v. Board of Education. |
