Mansfield, Tanick & Cohen To Host MSBA Managing Partners Roundtable

On April 30, Mansfield, Tanick & Cohen will host the Minnesota State Bar Association's Managing Partners Roundtable. The firm's managing shareholder, Earl H. Cohen, will facilitate a discussion on "Effective Law Firm Management During Challenging Times." Sponsored by the MSBA, the Roundtable meets six times per year drawing the managing partners of small to midsize firms from the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area and central Minnesota. The Roundtable provides an opportunity for managing partners to develop solutions to problems common to most firms, thus allowing them to better serve their clients.

Mansfield, Tanick & Cohen Attorney Addresses the Minnesota Chapter of the Financial Planning Association

Mansfield, Tanick & Cohen attorney, Earl H. Cohen, was the keynote speaker at the April 15th monthly meeting of the Minnesota Chapter of the Financial Planning Association presenting "Top Estate Planning Techniques in Minnesota." The program, attended by over 220 of the association's members consisting of financial planners, investment advisors and related financial service professionals, provided current tips on individual estate, wealth transfer, asset protection and tax planning.

Mr. Cohen, who practices in the areas of estate and wealth transfer planning, asset protection planning, general corporate, financial reorganizations and bankruptcy, is a regular presenter and consultant to financial services professionals and speaker at continuing legal education programs. Mr. Cohen has been recognized by his peers as a Super Lawyer® and named one of the state's Top 40 Estate Planning Lawyers® by Minnesota Law and Politics for several years.

• On April 6, 2008, Phillip J. Trobaugh helped to judge the National Championship round of the National Mock Trial Tournament, hosted by Hamline University School of Law. Joining him were Minnesota Supreme Court Justice James Gilbert, Minnesota Court of Appeals Chief Judge Edward Toussaint, and Hennepin County Judge Susan Burke.

• Attorney Jeffrey C. O'Brien has been named President of the Front Nine Business Builders, the newest Minnesota BNI Chapter.

• Mansfield Tanick & Cohen has recently become a member of the Elk River Area Chamber of Commerce. Attorney Jeffrey C. O'Brien, a resident of nearby Albertville, Minnesota, will be the Firm's point person for Chamber activities. • On May 20, 2008, Jeffrey C. O'Brien will present at a National Business Institute program entitled "Advanced LLC Issues." Mr. O'Brien will present the topics "Understanding the World of Minority Rights and Fiduciary Obligations" and "Walking the Ethical Line."
