TWO FROM FIRM NAMED IN 'TOP 40' IN EMPLOYMENT  Two senior partners of the law firm of MANSFIELD, TANICK & COHEN, P.A. have been named among the 'Top 40' Minnesota lawyers in employment law. Named to the select group were: Seymour J. Mansfield and Marshall H. Tanick. They were included in the listing published annually by Minnesota Law & Politics. They were selected from a survey of Minnesota lawyers. Both Mr. Mansfield and Mr. Tanick have been named "Super Lawyers" consistently over the past 15 years by the magazine in the survey. Mr. Tanick also has been named a "Top Attorney in Employment Law" on several prior occasions and has been listed among the "Top 100" attorneys in Minnesota. Mr. Mansfield represents business executives and others in employment-related matters. Mr. Tanick represents a number of businesses, employees, and labor unions with respect to employment-related issues.

MACK AND SANTANA PARALEGALS ELECTED, RE-ELECTED TO LEADERSHIP ROLES

Nicole Foley, a paralegal with the firm of Mack and Santana (who is also Of Counsel to Mansfield Tanick & Cohen), will be serving a second year as the Minnesota Paralegal Association's Family Law sectional chair. In addition, Malorie A. Scharpe, also with Mack and Santana, will serve as the co-chair.

Nicole also served as the Winter Gala chair for the MPA and was nominated to be the Annual Convention chair for the convention in June 2008. She also was recently interviewed for a book called "50 Legal Careers for Non-Attorneys" by Ursula Furi-Perry, J.D. as a family law paralegal which will be published next month. Congratulations to Nicole and Malorie!

UPCOMING EVENTS

• On February 26, 2008, Phillip J. Trobaugh will be speaking at the Legal Expo, an annual event organized by the Hennepin and Ransey County Bar Associations that introduces legal issues to more than 600 high school students. Mr. Trobaugh will be speaking and answering questions on school rules.

• On March 12, 2008, Marshall H. Tanick and Jeffrey C. O'Brien will participate in separate sessions at the 13^th Annual "Working Together" Conference at the Earle Brown Heritage Center in Brooklyn Center, Minn. The conference, cosponsored by the Minnesota Multi-Housing Association, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Minnesota Housing Finance Agency and Minnesota NAHRO, provides education and resources to members of Minnesota's multi-housing industry. Mr. Tanick will speak on the topic of "Companion Animals" and Mr. O'Brien will discuss "Bankruptcy for Property Managers."

• On March 27, 2008, Jeffrey C. O'Brien will co-present "Buyers and Sellers Beware - Things to Consider in the Purchase or Sale of a Business" in a webcast sponsored by Minnesota Continuing Legal Education.
