KrisAnn Norby-Jahner joined Mansfield, Tanick & Cohen, P.A. as an Associate in 2010, after clerking with the Firm for a year and a half. As a graduate from Hamline University School of Law, she has been active in a variety of employment cases, representing clients in the law school’s Employment Discrimination Mediation Representation Clinic, co-authoring an article detailing the Clinic’s practice, and acting as co-counsel in successfully defending a university misconduct charge. She has also worked on a variety of litigation cases with the Firm in the areas of employment and labor law, ERISA, commercial litigation, and real estate. Ms. Norby-Jahner was an Associate and Managing Editor of the Hamline Law Review, and in 2009 she published the article, "Minor" Online Sexual Harassment and the CDA, Section 230 Defense: New Directions for Internet Service Provider Liability, analyzing the Communications Decency Act and the pervasive nature of suicides and cyberbullying among teenagers on social networking cites. For her work on this topic, Ms. Norby-Jahner was awarded the Minnesota Women Lawyers Equal Justice Award. Ms. Norby-Jahner also competed on the National Moot Court team, writing the best brief, runner-up and advancing to the national competition in New York City. As a Rule 114 Qualified Neutral, Ms. Norby-Jahner studied in Hamline’s nationally ranked Dispute Resolution Institute and earned the Certificate in Advocacy and Problem-Solving, with Honors. Before becoming a lawyer, Ms. Norby-Jahner studied in both M.A. and Ph.D. programs, specializing in Contemporary and Minority American Literature and teaching college composition and writing courses. Her extensive research and writing background has been a tremendous asset in litigation and appellate work. Ms. Norby-Jahner is originally from Grenora, North Dakota and currently resides with her husband and son in Blaine, Minnesota.
